CHIANG MAI — 19 September, Rescuers have successfully brought a disabled elephant ashore after it was swept away by raging floodwaters in Mae Win, Mae Wang district, following heavy rain in Chiang Mai.
The Rom Daen Chang Facebook page provided an update on efforts to rescue the elephant after it was carried away by flash floodwaters in the Mae Win area.
Rescuers managed to reach the elephant and identified it as Pang Aem, a female elephant with a disability affecting one of her front legs. She had been swept downstream by strong floodwaters amid high water levels and powerful currents, raising concerns among the rescue team and people following the incident.
The latest update brought good news, with rescuers successfully bringing Pang Aem to safety on the riverbank. The elephant is now being allowed to stand and rest as she regains her composure after the frightening ordeal.
