Rural Subdistrict Lacks Funds to Repair Damaged Road

Residents of Khun Thong subdistrict, Buriram province, have complained about severe damage to a village road that has potholes and ruts stretching across a long stretch, making travel difficult and raising concerns about accidents. The subdistrict headman Sompong Phong Perm revealed that when he took office, he contacted multiple agencies to determine responsibility for the road, only to find that no department claims ownership. Surveys showed repairs would cost approximately 5 million baht, which equals the entire development budget for the subdistrict, making it impossible to allocate funds for the work. In response, the subdistrict administration has decided on a temporary fix using compacted gravel to fill potholes until supplementary funding becomes available in fiscal year 2571.
