Woman Turns in Son After Beer Bottle Attack Wounds 13-Year-Old
A 13-year-old boy suffered severe neck injuries after a beer bottle attack on a Kanchanaburi highway; the suspect's mother turned him in to police following media pressure.
On September 15, Rapee Chamnanruea, a criminal justice advocate, disclosed that on September 12 at 9:10 p.m., a teenager threw a beer bottle at a 13-year-old boy identified as A (pseudonym) while he was riding a motorcycle on Highway 323 near Thao Sao subdistrict administrative office in Trai Yok district, Kanchanaburi province. The boy sustained severe injuries with a large laceration to his neck and an airway nearly severed, requiring 52 stitches.
The victim's parents filed a complaint with Trai Yok Police Station on September 13. However, concerned about receiving insufficient justice due to the suspect remaining at large, they escalated the case to Pol. Col. Natthawut Kantayos, superintendent of Trai Yok Police Station. He ordered investigators to review CCTV footage from the incident area and trace the suspect's escape route.
Investigators identified the suspect as Kittiphop (nickname Sang), 28 years old. Facing pressure from police and online media, Sang's mother brought him to surrender at Trai Yok Police Station. Police conducted preliminary questioning and proceeded with legal procedures.
