Mother Reports 12-Year-Old Boy for Sexual Abuse of 7-Year-Old Girl

A distressing case has emerged in Chiang Rai province after Pranee, 27, reported that her 7-year-old daughter was surrounded by a group of boys in the same village and sexually abused by one of them, identified as a 12-year-old. The incident occurred on a Sunday evening in the Huay Lu community hall in Mae Yao subdistrict, Mueang district. The girl did not immediately tell her family, but on Tuesday showed signs of distress and heavy crying. When questioned, her younger sister revealed what happened and blood was found on the girl's underwear. The girl identified her attacker by his face as a boy of around 12 years old from her community.

When Pranee approached the boy's parents to discuss the matter, they denied the allegation and insisted the case go through legal channels, claiming to have a lawyer relative. The family's response left Pranee worried about justice and safety, especially since both families live close by and the children attend the same school. The girl now lives in fear, is depressed, and afraid to attend school. The "Root One" Facebook page coordinated with child shelters and authorities to support the girl's protection, psychological recovery, and legal proceedings.

Mae Yao Station Police Commander Sanga Sriwithai revealed that investigators have gathered additional information and are monitoring the case closely. Initial investigation found that the boy admitted to committing the act, while his parents still deny it. The officer stated the case is sensitive because both the victim and accused are children and minors, so the investigation must respect children's rights and everyone's mental state. Authorities are awaiting official medical examination results to support their findings. If investigation reveals the boy's parents are guilty of negligence or involvement in the wrongdoing, legal action will be taken. Police are currently compiling evidence and conducting a thorough investigation.
