Thai Tennis Star Ruangkhao Reaches Career-High World Ranking 61
Thai tennis player Ruangkhao Lallana Thararydi climbed to a career-high world ranking of 61 following a strong performance at the US Open, making her the second-highest ranked female Thai player in history.
Thai tennis player Ruangkhao Lallana Thararydi met with Purit Phiromphakdi, chief executive officer of Boonrodsbrewery Company Limited, to thank him for his continued support following her career-best performance, as she climbed to world ranking 61. She is now the second-highest ranked female Thai tennis player in history, after former world No. 19 Tammarine Thansukanya.
Ruangkhao began playing tennis at age 6 and joined the Singha team as a youth, winning multiple championships. She was selected for the Singha Grand Slam Experience program and traveled to Australia in 2019 to learn about professional tennis and experience the Australian Open. That experience inspired her to develop her skills further until she successfully competed on the grand slam stage.
In 2026, Ruangkhao competed in three grand slam tournaments: the Australian Open, where she reached the first round; Wimbledon; and the US Open, where she advanced to the second round. Her US Open performance pushed her ranking up 15 places from 76 to 61, setting an important record for Thai tennis. Meanwhile, Mhai Mananchai Swanggaew, 24, also advanced to the second round of the US Open and climbed 6 places from 95 to 88 in the world rankings, also marking a career-high.
