Heavy Rain Floods Roads in Buriram, Blocking Traffic
Overnight downpours in Buriram's Ban Khwao district have flooded major roads and damaged Route 9, blocking traffic across the province. The Meteorological Department warns of heavy rain continuing through September 27.
Heavy overnight rainfall in Buriram province has left multiple roads flooded and damaged, making it impassable for ordinary vehicles. The Meteorological Department issued its fourth severe weather warning on September 24, predicting heavy to very heavy rain across Thailand from September 23–27.
Ban Khwao district in Buriram has been severely affected by continuous heavy rain throughout the night, causing flooding at numerous locations. The Buriram–Ban Khwao road near a petrol station in Prasart subdistrict has significant water pooling on its surface, preventing small vehicles from passing normally. Meanwhile, Route 9 in Nong Mai Ngam subdistrict has suffered road damage and deterioration, blocking all traffic.
Ekawat Puangprakone, the district officer of Ban Khwao, has coordinated with relevant agencies to monitor flood-risk areas and water levels continuously, and to prepare assistance for residents should conditions worsen.
