Heavy Rain Floods Major Roads in Samut Prakan

At 4:00 p.m. on September 25, flooding and rainfall were reported across Mueang District, Samut Prakan, following continuous rain since morning with particularly heavy downpours in the afternoon and evening. Several major roads are affected, including Thepharak Road between Sri Tep and Thepharak intersections, where significant flooding is making it difficult for small vehicles to pass. Sri Nakharin Road from Sri Tep intersection to the Electricity Authority intersection also shows high water levels on the left and center lanes. Sukhumvit Road near Nai Ruea School on both inbound and outbound sides is experiencing rising water levels, while Phraeksa Road has flooding at multiple points requiring cautious driving.

Authorities have activated water-pumping stations across the area to drain water from roads and communities. Multiple pumping stations are operating simultaneously, including Chol Ha Phichit 1 and 2 (12 and 15 pumps respectively at 3 cubic meters per second), Chol Ha Phichit 3 (two 15 cubic meter per second pumps), Tamru Station (six 3 cubic meter per second pumps), Bang Pla Ra Station (four 3 cubic meter per second pumps), Suvarnabhumi Station (two 25 cubic meter per second pumps), Nang Hong Station (three 5 cubic meter per second pumps), Phraya Wisut Station (one 3 and one 15 cubic meter per second pump), Bang Pla Station (two 3 cubic meter per second pumps), Khlong Dan 2 Station (four 3 cubic meter per second pumps), and Charoen Rat Station (two 15 cubic meter per second pumps).

Conditions remain critical as tidal surge is beginning to raise sea levels in the evening, combined with already elevated canal water levels that slow drainage. With rainfall continuing, authorities are intensifying water-pumping operations at critical points to minimize impact on residents and traffic. The public is advised to exercise caution on affected routes and monitor water levels and official announcements closely.
