It thanked the customer for cooperation and reaffirmed its verification process.
Siam Commercial Bank released a press clarification on October 14, 2026, explaining that after a customer reported using three banknotes on October 12, 2026, and expressed suspicion they might be counterfeit from the bank’s ATM, the bank immediately contacted the customer and conducted an inspection. The customer was present throughout the process. According to the bank’s banknote inspection standards, both tactile examination and machine verification showed the notes were authentic and not counterfeit. Furthermore, verification of data and evidence confirmed the notes were not of the same version as those loaded into the ATM, and the customer had withdrawn them on September 14, 2026. The bank has already informed the customer of the findings, thanked them for their cooperation, and emphasized that it has a procedure to inspect every banknote in ATMs before they are dispensed, maintaining standards and safety to continually build customer confidence.
