Sirikannya Vows MOA Anniversary Dispute Won't Happen Again
Pheu Thai deputy leader Sirikannya Tansukul acknowledged responsibility for a memorandum dispute with coalition partner Bhumjaithai and vowed such conflicts won't recur, urging all parties to move past the one-year-old disagreement.
At 8:40 a.m. on 7 September at Parliament, Sirikannya Tansukul, Pheu Thai list MP and deputy party leader, commented on the memorandum of understanding between Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai involving Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Interior Minister. She stated that Pheu Thai bore responsibility for the two-party squabble but did not wish to respond further, calling the exchange more of a ping-pong match than meaningful debate.
With the one-year anniversary now past, Sirikannya said the matter should be allowed to rest. She framed it as a lesson for all parties to remember—regardless of who views whom as having broken the agreement, it was a mistake that should never happen again in future.
When asked about public dissatisfaction that she could not recall the specific date, Sirikannya explained that she had forgotten it was 5 September, but what matters is that she clearly remembers the lesson learned that day: never to repeat such an error.
