At 5 p.m. on September 7, 2025, Thailand's Meteorological Department issued its second warning of heavy to very heavy rain across Thailand with effects from September 8-13. Rain will increase significantly across many areas, beginning in the northeast before spreading to other regions. Between September 8-11, a monsoon trough will pass through the north, upper central, and northeast regions while the southwest monsoon maintains moderate strength over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, bringing heavy rainfall to upper Thailand.
From September 12-13, a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China will move southward over the upper north and upper northeast, shifting the monsoon trough to the lower central and eastern regions. The southwest monsoon will intensify over the Andaman Sea, south, and Gulf of Thailand, causing rainfall to decrease in the north and northeast while increasing in the central region, Bangkok and surroundings, the east, and the south with heavy to very heavy falls in some areas.
Residents in the lower northeast, central region including Bangkok, the east, and upper south are warned during September 9-11 to exercise caution against heavy rainfall, accumulated rain, flash flooding, and flash floods. Areas near waterways, sloping terrain, and low-lying zones should avoid routes prone to repeated flooding. A tropical depression near the Philippines between September 11-13 may intensify into a tropical cyclone and move toward the central South China Sea.
Affected provinces include: September 8 - North: Nan, Phrae, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun; Northeast: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nongbua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani; Central: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Kanchanaburi; East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat; South: Ranong, Phangnga.
