Social Security Voter Denied Ballot After System Shows Already Voted
At the Ministry of Labour in Bangkok's Din Daeng district, a voter attempting to participate in the social security board election was incorrectly informed that she had already voted. Officials verified her identity and found no signature on record, but the system still flagged her as having voted, which they blamed on a possible system hang. After confirming she had not yet received a ballot, they provided her with one so she could complete her vote.
A social security insider arrived at the polling station for the social security board election only to be told that her voting card had already been used, even though she had just arrived and had not signed for the ballot. Officials checked her ID and found her name in the system with no signature, yet the system still indicated she had voted. They attributed the error to a possible system glitch, then issued her a ballot so she could cast her vote.
