State Enterprises Spend 172 Billion Baht in Nine Months

The State Enterprise Policy Committee Office (SEPC) reported that 43 state enterprises disbursed 172,489 million baht in capital investment during the first nine months of fiscal year 2025 (October 2024 to June 2025), or 69% of the total investment framework of 250,604 million baht. Major infrastructure projects including railways, light rail, and high-speed rail are progressing steadily, with authorities accelerating disbursement of the remaining 78,115 million baht in the final quarter to drive economic growth as planned.
Thibodi Watthanakul, Director of the SEPC, stated that the office recognizes the critical role state enterprises play in stimulating economic activity and building confidence in the broader economy through capital investment within the total investment framework of 250,604 million baht for October 2024 to September 2025. During the nine-month monitoring period, state enterprises achieved cumulative disbursement of 172,489 million baht, representing 69% of the investment budget.
Piyawan Lamkija, an advisor on state enterprise development, highlighted major investment projects with high cumulative disbursement rates, including the Den Chai-Chiang Rai-Chiang Khong railway construction project of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), the Purple Line light rail extension from Taopoon to Ratchaburana of the Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), and the Thai-China High-Speed Railway Phase 1 (Bangkok-Nakhon Ratchasima) project of the SRT, with disbursement rates of 88%, 80%, and 77% respectively.
Thibodi Watthanakul concluded that as state enterprises enter the fourth quarter, they have 78,115 million baht remaining to disburse, with the majority allocated to transport sector enterprises (34,509 million baht), energy sector (21,897 million baht), and public utilities sector (16,240 million baht). The SEPC will closely monitor state enterprise capital disbursement during the final quarter to ensure investment targets are met.
