On the evening of September 7, Photharam Police set up checkpoints to combat crime and prevent illegal possession of weapons and drugs. At approximately 10:30 p.m., a bronze Toyota pickup truck with Ratchaburi registration sped through the checkpoint, refusing inspection. Officers pursued the vehicle, suspecting illegal cargo inside.
The truck fled into Tambon Khlong Takot before heading toward Ban Pong subdistrict via an irrigation canal road. During the chase, the pickup lost control and crashed into a railway barrier in Ban Pong, spinning onto the tracks. A train approaching the location was able to stop in time, preventing a collision. Officers detained a 28-year-old woman named Rassukun found inside the vehicle. The driver, Jirayut (Jomyut) Photharam, escaped through an open door and remains at large.
Police recovered approximately 9.7 grams of methamphetamine, a homemade .380 pistol, 12 rounds of ammunition, and 70,320 baht in cash from the truck. The woman faces charges related to illegal possession of weapons, ammunition, drugs, and resisting a police officer. The suspect driver is being pursued on charges including illegal weapons possession and drug-related offenses. Jirayut has prior convictions for drug possession in 2017 and unlicensed firearm charges in Nakhon Pathom province in 2026.
