Boxing Board Certifies 176 New Training Camps Nationwide
Thailand's Boxing Board certified 176 new professional training camps for 2025 and approved a 20 million baht welfare fund for boxing personnel over four years.
The Boxing Sports Committee has certified 176 additional professional boxing training camps for fiscal year 2025 and approved a 20 million baht budget to provide monthly welfare support for boxing personnel over the next four years. Minister Surasak Puntcharoenkul chaired the committee's second meeting of 2025 at the Tourism and Sports Ministry on September 7, attended by key officials including Deputy Permanent Secretary Nattriya Tweevongse and Professional Sports and Boxing Division Deputy Director Prodeepran Samanmit.
After the meeting, Deputy Director Prodeepran Samanmit revealed that the committee approved two major matters. First, it certified standards for 176 additional professional boxing camps in 2025—comprising 39 large camps, 41 medium camps, and 96 small camps—bringing the total number of certified camps to 752 since 2020. The certification process has evaluated camps from a national database of 4,441 registered training facilities. Certified camps receive benefits including certificates, awards, promotional recognition, trainer development opportunities, compensation support for the Muaythai for All program, assistance with DTV visa applications for foreign students, media promotion, and eligibility to compete in official tournaments.
Second, the committee approved a 20 million baht welfare fund to support active and retired boxing personnel for four years from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2029, under the Muaythai Sports Act of 1999.
