School Guard Fatally Stabs Janitor in Ayutthaya
A school security guard fatally stabbed a 65-year-old janitor during an argument at an Ayutthaya school on September 8, leading to a manhunt that resulted in the suspect's arrest.
At 12:00 noon on September 8, 2569, Deputy Lieutenant Samard Raksat, Investigation Chief of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station, responded to a report of a stabbing incident at a school in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District. Officers arrived with rescue personnel and foundation staff to find the victim, 65-year-old school janitor Taveep, unconscious with two stab wounds—one in the left chest and another in the left ribcage. First aid was administered before he was rushed to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Hospital, where he died.
The suspect, identified as Aneuk, works as a school security guard. He fled the scene after the attack, and police launched a manhunt to apprehend and question him. Witnesses, including a nearby vendor, reported seeing Taveep enter the guard post to find Aneuk. The two men argued, though the vendor could not hear the details of their dispute. They briefly fought and separated, but when Taveep returned to the guard post moments later, another altercation erupted, during which Aneuk allegedly used a knife to stab Taveep, causing him to collapse outside the school hall.
One parent revealed that after learning of the stabbing, she rushed to the school to retrieve her two young children enrolled in kindergarten and first grade. She expressed fear for their safety, noting that the perpetrator remained at large within the school premises. The parent acknowledged knowing both men and that they frequently argued, but never expected the conflict would escalate to a fatal stabbing.
Police from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Station have launched a full investigation into the incident. As of the latest update, suspect Aneuk has been apprehended and is undergoing questioning to determine motive and pursue further legal action.
