Police Officer Shoots Kindergarten Teacher in Chachoengsao
A kindergarten teacher was shot and killed in her school cafeteria in Chachoengsao Province on September 9; police have surrounded the suspect's home and are negotiating his surrender.
On September 9, a kindergarten teacher identified as Pailin, 48, was killed in the cafeteria of Nong Pla Lai Municipal Kindergarten in Bang Lamung District, Chachoengsao Province. The initial suspect is identified as Sergeant Tachpong, a police officer. Authorities are currently surrounding his residence and attempting to negotiate his surrender.
According to neighbors interviewed, Sergeant Tachpong had previously visited to discuss stress and early retirement from government service, with conversations typically focused on work-related matters. When asked about family problems, the neighbor said they were unsure, as such topics had not been discussed previously. The neighbor described both the sergeant and his wife as good people and expressed shock and sadness at the incident, noting that the suspect had always seemed calm and composed.
Police from Bang Lamung Police Station, along with local administrative officials, went to the suspect's residence in Nong Pla Lai Subdistrict after locating him at home. Officers have cordoned off the area and attempted to negotiate his surrender, but received no response from inside the house. They then contacted family members and the suspect's young son to help persuade him to come out peacefully.
