Thai Men's Volleyball Beats Chinese Taipei, Wins Group C

Thailand's men's volleyball team continued to display excellent form, defeating Chinese Taipei with three straight victories to clinch Group C and advance to the quarterfinals of the 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Continent Championship held in Fukuoka, Japan.

In the final group-stage match on September 9, 2025, Thailand's 50th-ranked team faced Chinese Taipei, ranked 53rd globally. Both teams had already secured quarterfinal spots with two previous wins, making this match a battle for group supremacy.

Coach Park Ki-won fielded his starting lineup including Bunyarut Wongthon, Naphadeach Pinijdee, Chaiwat Thungkham, Thanadtawee Bamrungpakdee, Anuchit Pakdeekaew, Thupdit Praphuttha, and Nakharin Inthanu as libero.

Thailand started excellently, taking an early 1-0 set lead. Chinese Taipei then rallied with strong attacks, particularly from the front row and second line, winning two consecutive sets to lead 2-1. Thailand refused to back down, with Coach Park making tactical adjustments that helped the team level at 2-2 sets, forcing a decisive fifth set.

Thailand played with confidence in the final set, establishing a commanding lead and securing a 3-2 victory with set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 23-25, 25-22, and 15-10. This gave Thailand their third consecutive win, the Group C championship, and advancement to the quarterfinals.

In the next round, Thailand will face Australia, who finished second in Group A.
