Pool Udom Marks 50 Years with Green Supply Chain Push

Pool Udom, part of the Pool Fruit Group and a major distributor of animal feed ingredients and integrated logistics services, is advancing into its 50th year with an upgraded commitment to green supply chain practices. The company will focus on improving efficiency from raw material sourcing through storage to transport, while simultaneously reducing environmental impact and developing low-carbon logistics systems to cut fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, in line with strengthening global trade standards for ESG compliance.

Over the past five decades, Pool Udom has evolved from a simple animal feed ingredient distributor into a trusted business partner for Thai feed manufacturers. The company supplies key materials including animal feed corn, cassava, and cassava pulp, while operating warehouses, silos, and comprehensive logistics management systems. These handle raw material storage and transport from source to customer delivery, all under GHPs and HACCP standards emphasizing quality, safety, and ingredient reliability.

For its 50th year, Pool Udom prioritizes green supply chain development by enhancing processes from procurement through warehousing to transport. This aims to boost operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact simultaneously, reflecting the industry trend toward sustainable and efficient supply chain management.

On the logistics front, the company is advancing low-carbon practices through technology and management systems that improve transport efficiency, focusing on reducing empty truck trips, optimizing fuel use, and cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Beyond environmental benefits, these measures enhance efficiency and reduce transport costs.

The company's approach has gained recognition, receiving the "Outstanding Establishment" award from the Eco Move program and being selected as a low-carbon logistics success case by the Logistics Division of the Department of Industrial Promotion in collaboration with Songkhla Nakharin University. This recognition stems from implementing a Backhaul Matching System to manage vehicle trips and boost transport efficiency, achieving measurable reductions in costs and emissions.
