A deadly shooting erupted during the Mae Rampung Beach Festival, Eastern Region, when two groups of teenagers fought late on September 18. The incident occurred at the festival, held from September 18-20 with nightly concerts by prominent artists. After a concert ended and visitors were leaving the grounds, the two groups began quarreling, shouting insults, and fighting before the situation appeared to be calming down and the groups were separating. However, multiple gunshots then rang out into the crowd of departing visitors, with stray rounds striking Pannadat, an uninvolved bystander walking home, who died at the scene. Additionally, four teenagers from the fighting groups sustained injuries from stray bullets. A witness recorded video footage of the incident, which Rayong City Police are using as evidence in their investigation and coordinating with detective units to track and prosecute the shooter. Officers are actively gathering evidence and pursuing the gunman for immediate prosecution.
