Temple Holds Ritual for Golden Teak Trees, Lottery Numbers Emerge
A temple in Ang Thong province blessed over 50 golden teak trees in a ritual that drew lottery enthusiasts seeking fortune, with observers noting numbers 5, 4, 8, 9 during the September 12 ceremony.
On September 12, 2025, temple officials and residents gathered at Wat Mai Khok Marum in Muang Tae subdistrict, Wisetchai district, Ang Thong province, to perform a blessing ceremony for over 50 golden teak trees housed at the temple. Local people and lottery enthusiasts have been visiting continuously to seek good fortune. The community invited Brahmin priests to conduct the ritual with traditional offerings and respect. During the ceremony, numbers 5, 4, 8, 9 were observed in a ceremonial water vessel, with lottery hopefuls also noting the numbers 0, 0, 4 for the upcoming September 16 draw. Wat Mai Khok Marum is the only temple in Thailand with the most golden teak trees, numbering approximately 50. According to local belief, whenever residents find golden teak trees on their property, they should be brought to the temple as offerings so that people can pay respects and seek blessings from them.
