Worshippers Flock to Sacred Temple Seeking Lottery Luck
Crowds descended on Rishi Hermitage in Ayutthaya on September 15, seeking lottery luck through merit offerings and examining sacred water reflections for winning numbers before the national draw.
On September 15, the Rishi Hermitage in Bang Thai District, Ayutthaya, drew large crowds the day before the national lottery draw. Two female vendors from Four Corners Market in Pathum Thani brought their families to make merit offerings and seek blessings at the shrine of Rishi Brahma after their earlier prayers for successful trade and good fortune were answered. Alongside locals and tourists, devotees made offerings including pumpkins, red candles, snacks, toys, bicycles, and rice at various sacred sites within the hermitage.
A particularly popular spot was the merit pavilion near the Rishi Brahma statue, where lottery hopefuls gathered around a sacred water basin to examine reflections from red candle flames, searching for numbers to play. Visitors reported spotting numbers including 246, 13, and 5, and many photographed these patterns from multiple angles, hoping to use the digits for their lottery tickets based on their beliefs and what they observed.
