Thailand has confirmed its flag bearers for the 20th Asian Games opening ceremony. Equestrian rider To Chelemchan Yotwiryapanich and volleyball player Nan Thaddao Nuekajaeng have been selected to lead the Thai delegation into the opening parade on September 19. Thai athletes who have arrived in Japan have begun training sessions to warm up, test the venues, and assess their readiness in the final days before competition begins.
As of September 15, Thai athletes have started arriving in Aichi-Nagoya and conducting final training camps to prepare for the games. According to Air Chief Marshal Apiwat Srivuddhanapaa, head of the Thai delegation for the 20th Asian Games, the male flag bearer is To Chelemchan Yotwiryapanich, an accomplished equestrian who won Thailand's first gold medal in dressage at the 1995 Sea Games and earned silver in team dressage at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia. He also holds gold medals from the 33rd Sea Games in team dressage.
The female flag bearer is Nan Thaddao Nuekajaeng, a key member of Thailand's volleyball team and winner of the best fast-attack award at the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship. She played a crucial role in helping Thailand win the championship and secure qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games.
The opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games will be held on September 19 at 4:00 p.m. Thailand time at Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The competition will run from September 19 to October 4.
