Thai Meteorological Department Warns of Heavy Rain in 30 Provinces

The Meteorological Department's 24-hour forecast for October 8, 2026 gives the following details: Northern Thailand – thunderstorms over 20% of the area, mainly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun; minimum temperatures 20-26°C, maximum 33-35°C; easterly winds 10-20 km/h. Northeastern Thailand – rain over 10% of the area, mainly in Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima and Ubon Ratchathani; minimum 20-24°C, maximum 31-34°C; northeasterly winds 10-25 km/h. Central Thailand – thunderstorms over 30% of the area, mainly in Uthai Thani, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram; minimum 22-25°C, maximum 32-35°C; easterly winds 10-20 km/h. Eastern Thailand – thunderstorms over 30% of the area, mainly in Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat; minimum 23-25°C, maximum 32-35°C; northeasterly winds 10-30 km/h; sea waves generally under one metre, exceeding two metres in thunderstorm zones. Southern Thailand (east coast) – thunderstorms over 70% of the area, with heavy rain in some places, affecting Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Yala and Narathiwat; minimum 23-25°C, maximum 32-34°C; easterly winds 10-30 km/h; sea waves under one metre, exceeding two metres in thunderstorm zones. Southern Thailand (west coast) – thunderstorms over 60% of the area, with heavy rain in some places, affecting Ranong and Phang Nga; minimum 23-25°C, maximum 31-35°C; northwesterly winds 15-30 km/h; sea waves about one metre, exceeding two metres in thunderstorm zones.
