Floodwaters Swamp Prachin Buri's Ban Sang District as Protest Looms
Floodwaters have surged into Ban Sang district of Prachin Buri, creating the province's highest water levels and a critical situation. Prachin Buri's acting governor Chanathip Kokmoni visited Ban Sang district to monitor flood conditions, noting that while water levels in Mueang Prachin Buri are dropping by 5-6 centimeters per day, the bulk of water has flowed into Ban Sang via several subdistricts, leaving it with the highest water levels in the province and in a critical state. He dismissed rumors surrounding the sudden transfer of district chief Setthawut Wongleawut, urging the public not to let drama overshadow relief efforts and inviting inquiries through official channels. Later that evening, tensions rose after community leader Siriporn Chaiyawat called on social media for residents to boat through floodwaters and gather at the provincial hall to defend the district chief.
