Thai Ministers Visit Flood-Hit Chachoengsao to Coordinate Relief
Thai ministers visited flood‑affected Chachoengsao province on October 5, 2026 to assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts. They met with provincial officials, inspected an evacuation centre at Wat Huai Sai, and spoke directly with residents about their needs. The visit aims to align inter‑agency assistance and ensure timely aid for flood victims.
On October 5, 2026, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchat Chomglin, Defense Minister General Adul Bunthammajern, and Interior Deputy Minister Phonpeer Suwannachawi visited Chachoengsao province to monitor the flood situation and its impacts. They were greeted by Chachoengsao Governor Monthasit Paisalthanawat and relevant officials before convening at the provincial hall to receive reports on the situation, problems, effects, and relief plans. Suchat said Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is very concerned about the floods in Chachoengsao and has directed all agencies to monitor closely and integrate their work to ensure residents receive comprehensive assistance. He explained that the field visit aims to gather real‑time information to coordinate inter‑agency efforts in public assistance, safety, and water management to match the situation. Afterwards the team proceeded to Wat Huai Sai in Tambon Huai Sai, Bang Khla district, to hear a situation briefing, visit the evacuation centre, and directly talk with residents and flood victims about their living conditions and needs, while offering encouragement and monitoring the assistance provided by relevant agencies to align aid with local problems and necessities. Suchat emphasized the importance of caring for flood‑affected people in terms of safety, livelihood, and prompt access to aid, so they receive appropriate support throughout the flood period. He added that the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry is ready to back relief work fully, preparing staff, equipment, tools, and mobile kitchen units to supply food and essential items to victims, as well as equipment for expediting water discharge and drainage in the area. The ministry will closely coordinate data with the province and related agencies to make assistance and water management effective and swiftly alleviate residents’ hardship.
