Pol Lt Gen Nopphasin Phunsawat said Chinese authorities reported that since around April 2022, a man identified as Mr. Wang, who claims to be an anti‑counterfeit expert, teamed up with Ms. Zhang and others. They alleged that products from Dyesoo Company Limited and other firms contained illegal substances, then threatened to publish damaging information on overseas platforms such as Douyin and Weibo unless victims paid over 70 million yuan, about 350 million baht. Investigators found that Ms. Zhang entered Thailand with valid permission and lived in an apartment in Mahachai district, Samut Sakhon province. After locating her, police canceled her stay permit, took her into custody, and transferred her to immigration detention for deportation to China to face trial.
