Thai Snooker Star Un-Nooh Hits Eighth Career 147, Loses
Thepchaiya Un-Nooh made his eighth career 147 maximum break but fell 3-6 to Mark Williams at the International
Thai snooker player Thepchaiya "F1" Un-Nooh produced his eighth career maximum break of 147 points in the opening frame against three-time world champion Mark Williams in the last 32 of the International Championship in Nanjing, China. Despite the milestone, Un-Nooh lost the match 3-6 frames. Un-Nooh is praised as one of the finest maximum-break makers in the sport, and this 147 moves him to sole seventh on the all-time list, ahead of Chinese legend Ding Junhui. Additionally, the Thai cueist has a chance to claim the tournament's high-break prize of £5,000 (roughly 220,000 baht) if no other player surpasses his break. So far this season, six maximum breaks have been recorded, bringing the all-time total in snooker history to 247.
