Thai Sports Festival Generates Three Million Baht in Economic Value
A week-long Thai sports festival at Chaloem Phattharachini Park in Suphan Buri drew 10,000 visitors and generated three million baht in economic value through Muay Thai, boxing competitions, and cultural performances.
The National Sports University held a Thai sports exhibition and competition event aimed at boosting economic value as part of its Cultural Influence Thai Fighting Food and Festival programme for fiscal year 2569, running from September 2–8 at Chaloem Phattharachini Park in Suphan Buri province. The seven-day event drew approximately 10,000 visitors including locals, tourists, students, and staff, generating around three million baht in economic benefit for the province.
Both Muay Thai and amateur boxing competitions featured athletes from various campuses of the National Sports University, competing amid enthusiastic crowds of locals and tourists. Each pair of athletes displayed their skills, strength, and potential from rigorous training to the fullest of their abilities.
Amateur boxing results included Theepatthrecha Sisad from Ang Thong winning the women's 45kg pinweight division; Pornpavee Srichai from Krabi claiming first place in the women's 48kg lightflyweight; and multiple champions across other weight classes from provinces including Sisaket, Bangkok, Chumphon, Ubon Ratchathani, and Yala. Similarly, Muay Thai amateur competition results saw Glinphaka Somsri from Sukhothai winning the women's 48kg lightflyweight division, with champions crowned across all weight divisions.
Beyond boxing and Muay Thai competitions, the event featured sword demonstrations, traditional Thai martial arts displays, folk games, and cultural performances representing all four regions of Thailand, reflecting the wisdom, beauty, and unique identity of Thai heritage while introducing children and youth to the value of traditional Thai sports.
