National Sports University Launches Thai Fighting Arts Festival
The National Sports University launched a Thai fighting arts festival on September 2 in Suphan Buri province, featuring Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong competitions alongside cultural performances and local cuisine through September 8.
The National Sports University opened its Cultural Influence Thai Fighting Food and Festival event on September 2, 2025, at Suan Chaloem Phattharachai in Suphan Buri province, drawing crowds of locals, youth, and tourists. Suphan Buri Governor Nathpong Songwanjit presided over the opening ceremony, alongside university leadership who outlined the event's aim to promote Thai sports and generate economic value for communities.
The opening featured traditional performances including "Faith of Siam: Toward Thai Strength" showcasing Thai identity through elegant performance art, followed by "The Art of Warriors," which highlighted the power, grace, and wisdom of Thai martial arts. Singer Kratip Surangkana Saengjunthon, Miss Tourism World 2024 and tourism ambassador from Roi Et province, performed several songs including "Dang Yai," "Sod Bo Don Kon Man Suay," "Khuen Ma Hug Kan," "Jeb Bo Jam," and "Muen Nam Ta Ha Jon Pho."
The festival runs through September 8 and features Muay Thai and Krabi Krabong competitions as main attractions, alongside martial arts demonstrations, regional cultural performances, and a market offering Thai cuisine, local dishes, and community products. The event emphasizes economic development by linking traditional sports with local food, culture, and tourism while operating under Green Environment principles to minimize waste and environmental impact.
