Prime Minister Anuthin Charnvirakul delivered a keynote address titled "Thailand's Offer to the World" at the Bangkok Business Summit 2026 held at the Sirikit National Convention Centre on September 3, 2026. The event attracted over 400 participants including foreign ambassadors, senior officials, and representatives from Thai and international private sectors.
Anuthin stated that Thailand is ready to shift from being merely a production base and market to becoming a "partner" of global investors in building industries of the future. He emphasized that Thailand offers a complete industrial ecosystem with established supply chains, so new investors need not start from scratch. The country provides industrial clusters, experienced workers, suppliers, and comprehensive support systems, along with logistics and digital networks, financial services, and major industrial bases spanning automotive, electronics, food, healthcare, and tourism.
The Prime Minister highlighted Thailand's strategic advantages beyond location, including deep-seated readiness and its role as a platform connecting businesses to ASEAN markets and supply chains. Thailand can serve as a base for both domestic and regional markets simultaneously. He also stressed Thailand's ability to work with both Eastern and Western partners amid an increasingly polarized global economy, turning this openness into an economic asset that reduces risk and diversifies production networks.
Anuthin identified four major simultaneous shifts in the global economy: geopolitics, technology, climate, and demographics. He stressed that Thailand must convert these changes into opportunities for building a stronger, more competitive, and resilient long-term economy.
On technology, Anuthin stated that Thailand should not merely adopt foreign-developed AI and technologies, but ensure new investments build domestic knowledge, skills, and capabilities while upgrading labor, productivity, and competitiveness for Thai businesses and SMEs. Regarding the green economy transition, the government views it not just as a cost but as a new investment area encompassing clean energy, resilient infrastructure, and climate finance that can attract foreign capital.
The Prime Minister also proposed the concept of "Longevity Economy," transforming an aging society into an economic opportunity by linking healthcare, wellness, tourism, and technology to keep people healthy, skilled, and economically active throughout their lives. He noted that quality of life is another investment draw, as talented people and global capital follow countries offering good living standards. Thailand's recognized healthcare system, quality services, and people-friendly society position it well to attract skilled talent.
