Deputy Village Chief Shot Dead in Rueso Ambush

September 3 — The 4610 Ranger Company, Special Operations Unit of the 46th Ranger Regiment, received a report from village elders in Yaelabaw, Rueso District, Narathiwat, of a fatal shooting at Buenarayo village in the same district. Officers mobilized to the scene and coordinated with Rueso Provincial Police to investigate. Initial findings confirmed the victim was the deputy village chief of Unit 5, shot with an unidentified firearm and killed at the scene.
