Thailand's Social Security Office will cut contribution rates to the Workers' Compensation Fund effective Jan 1, 2027, benefiting about 75% of employers and saving roughly 1.7 billion baht per year while keeping employee benefits unchanged. The reform adjusts rates by risk level and raises the maximum experience‑rating discount to 70% to encourage safer workplaces. No employer will face higher contributions.
The Social Security Office has announced that contribution rates to the Workmen's Compensation Fund will be reduced effective January 1, 2027, to help employers cut costs, especially small businesses, while maintaining full protection for employees. The adjustment aligns rates with the risk level of each business, lowering the base contribution rate for 452 of 1,091 business categories and increasing the maximum experience‑rating discount from 50% to 70% to encourage workplace safety. No employer will pay more; an estimated 344,521 establishments will see reduced contributions, saving about 1.7 billion baht per year. Officials stress that the reform balances employer relief with employee safeguards, promotes safer working environments, and ensures the long‑term stability of the fund.
