Pol. Col. Thavee Saetiao, list-MP and leader of the Prachachart Party, visited Tak Bai district in Narathiwat to attend a fund‑raising event for the renovation of the Tadika Islamic education center at Yama Mosque. He was accompanied by Narathiwat provincial governor Ku‑seng Yao‑ahsan, MP Kamol‑sak Liwamae, former Justice Ministry official Ku‑heng Yao‑ahsan and other party members, and was warmly welcomed by mosque leaders and local residents. The three‑story Tadika building, which received construction support and materials from Ku‑seng, now accommodates more than 800 students, making it the largest Tadika center in the district.
Former senator Fakhrudeen Botoh, who has been confined to a wheelchair for over two decades after a brutal assassination attempt, attended the event to show his support for Thavee and Kamol‑sak. Close associates of Botoh revealed that, despite more than twenty years passing without a conviction in his attack case, they have filed a final appeal with the Supreme Court, not expecting a favourable outcome but seeking to follow due process of law.
Thavee opened by emphasizing that education is the most important path for regional development, noting that even global institutions such as the IMF and World Bank stress human‑resource development. He cited research showing that investment in children yields returns of nine to ten times, far exceeding the roughly one‑time return from adult investment, because children hold the greatest hope for the future. He said the event was not merely a merit‑making activity but a foundation for the community’s future, and affirmed that the Prachachart Party will remain the last bulwark of correctness, upholding morality within the religious framework because justice and fairness are paramount.
He also praised the strength of the southern‑border labor network and motorcycle‑taxi riders (riders) who work in Bangkok, especially their response to the Ramkhamhaeng‑area flood last month when they set up halal kitchens at mosques to feed affected communities, demonstrating familial solidarity in times of disaster.
A representative of the ‘Malay Riders’ group, originally from Yae district in Narathiwat and who has worked in Bangkok for nearly twenty years, said the group is now uniting to assist fellow riders and is in the process of registering formally as an association.
