Politician Honors Southern Border Islamic Schools as Cultural Heritage
MP Tawee Sodsai attended a wedding in Yala province where he praised Islamic schools as valuable cultural heritage, reaffirming his commitment to supporting southern border communities.
On September 12, Pol. Lt. Col. Tawee Sodsai, Member of Parliament and Thai Nationals party leader, traveled to Yala province to participate in the wedding of the second son of Abdulbasi Chamama, chairman of the Yala Islamic Committee. The celebration took place at Ponae Sang Arun School in Katong subdistrict, Yaha district. Upon arrival, religious leaders and local residents warmly greeted Tawee with embraces and friendly conversation. He visited tables throughout the event with a smile, played with children in attendance, and shared a simple meal under a marquee tent with fellow guests.
During the gathering, Safie Jelue, chairman of the Narathiwat Islamic Committee, attended to congratulate the family and discussed matters closely with Tawee. In conversation with religious leaders, Tawee stressed the importance of educational institutions in the area, describing Ponae as "a valuable heritage." Before departing, Abdulbasi Chamama and Safie Jelue offered words of encouragement to Tawee for his continued service, expressing gratitude for his long-standing support of communities in the southern border provinces. Tawee accepted their encouragement and reaffirmed his commitment to doing what is right for the people, saying "Doing what is right may be exhausting, but it is worthwhile."
