Thavee Supports Education at Islamic School in Songkhla

On September 13, 2025, Thavee Sodsong, Member of Parliament and leader of the Prachathai Party serving as an advisor to the House Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights, led a party delegation to a charity fundraising event at Thammawitaya School Branch 2 in Jana District, Songkhla province. The event aimed to raise funds for construction of a new school building and mosque.

Thavee walked through the event site, greeting and chatting with community members and visitors at various activity tents and stalls within the school compound. Local school administrators welcomed him, led by Youmayil Manhwang, Director of Thammawitaya School in Songkhla; Meena Mahe, Manager of Thammawitaya Foundation School in Songkhla; Rossi Bensulong, Director of Thammawitaya School in Yala province; Ustaz Abdulrahman Tupa, Manager of Thammawitaya School in Yala; and Dr. Nasruddin Kaji.

Thavee remarked that the event serves as a valuable contribution to the country, particularly in the southern border provinces. Youmayil Manhwang thanked Thavee for his ongoing support and emphasis on education.

During the event, Theeraphong Donsawee, Managing Director of TN Law in Na Thawi District, Songkhla, and former chairman of the Na Thawi Bar Association, approached Thavee to greet him and express admiration for his political work and stance. Donsawee revealed that he has been following three major national issues: the Hau Senate case, the Khao Krajong case, and local government corruption. He praised Thavee for taking a clear political position focused on national and public interest rather than mere political gain.

"What he says, whether in the media or parliamentary debate, comes from sincerity and reflects what people are following," Donsawee stated. "Since Prachathai is part of the coalition government, it is difficult to voice opinions or scrutinize government administration. But he has the courage to speak the truth. Without politicians willing to speak up, such matters would be silenced, which would amount to destroying the nation."

As a legal expert, Donsawee also expressed concern about the Hau Senate case, noting that the Senate must fulfill its role in legal scrutiny and critically, in selecting independent organizations including the Election Commission, the National Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Constitutional Court. If Senate members are selected through improper means, they would vote to place their own people in these independent bodies, leading to serious corruption and undermining institutional integrity.
