The Royal Gazette has set new compensation rates for royal decorations and medals that cannot be returned, covering 67 categories effective October 1, 2026. Under existing law, recipients of royal decorations must return lower-ranked insignia when receiving higher ranks, or heirs of deceased recipients must return the decorations. When return is impossible, compensation payments apply instead. The cabinet approved price adjustments every three years, leading the Prime Minister's Office to issue this proclamation covering the 2570–2572 fiscal period. The compensation rates include Chakra Medal First Class at 5,998,456 baht, Chakra Medal Second Class Exceptional at 1,343,748 baht, Chakra Medal Second Class at 683,472 baht, Chakra Medal Third Class Exceptional at 410,472 baht, and Chakra Medal Third Class at 359,692 baht, along with rates for other royal decoration types including the Distinguished Chakri Medal, Royal Thai Crown Medal, and various royal service medals.
