The Pokémon Company and Not A Hotel have partnered to build Poké Ball-Themed Hotel accommodations shaped like the iconic spheres, set among Hokkaido's lush natural landscape. Rather than simple room theming, the project features giant ball-shaped structures designed as standalone lodgings, creating a "Pokémon-style glamping" experience with views of the distinctive silhouette before guests enter.
The concept ties into Pokémon Sleep, an application that incorporates sleep tracking into the Pokémon experience. The initiative elevates this concept by allowing fans to spend the night inside one of the franchise's most iconic items. The exact location is being kept secret, with organizers only revealing it will be "somewhere in Hokkaido," Japan's northernmost prefecture known for forests and natural abundance.
The project uses "Poké Ball" rather than the Japanese term "Monster Ball," suggesting it may target international trainers as well as Japanese fans. However, this is not a regular hotel open to the public. Access is reserved exclusively for winners of a special campaign, with no general bookings available. Details about entry requirements and application procedures will be revealed on September 15.
