Thailand Sweeps Three Tecball Gold Medals at Asian Games
Thailand dominated tecball's inaugural Asian Games appearance in Nagoya, capturing all three gold medals and securing the sport's first-ever medals at the continental competition.
Thailand's tecball team swept three gold medals across all three events competed at the 20th Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, making them the first gold medals in the sport and Thailand's first medals at these Games. Following the competition, Suphawadee Wongkamchan and Chudatip Kantathong, gold medalists in women's doubles, dedicated their victory to their families and Thai fans nationwide. They thanked the Thai Tecball Association, coaches, and all supporters, expressing joy at securing gold in the sport's inaugural Asian Games appearance and noting it represents a positive direction for tecball. They hope to see the sport advance to larger competitions such as the Olympic Games. Pakpong Detchareun, who won mixed doubles gold, reported the team played well according to their training and credited thorough preparation before competing. He also expressed hope that tecball will be included in the Olympic Games in the future.
