Thailand Sweeps Vietnam to Claim C.V. Cup Championship
Thailand's women's volleyball team swept Vietnam 3-0 to win the C.V. Cup Stage 2 championship in Chiang Mai, extending their unbeaten tournament run ahead of the Asian championship in August.
Thailand's women's volleyball team continued their stellar form, crushing Vietnam 3-0 in straight sets to claim the C.V. Cup 2026, Stage 2 championship in Chiang Mai province.
The women's volleyball tournament, the BYD DMI 6th SEA V CUP 2026, Stage 2, was held at Chiang Mai 700 Years Stadium on August 9, 2026. The final match saw Thailand, who had already mathematically secured the title with two consecutive wins, face Vietnam, who had lost twice already. Coach Kitti Ratchkrueangkai fielded his full squad, with starting lineup featuring team captain Porn Pron Gerdprachy, Taddao Nuk Chaeng, Chatchua Mokkasri, Kaew Kalya Kumulthala, Pimpichaya Kokram, and Sasipha Chantvisut, with Kallayanat Khamvong as the libero.
Thailand dominated the contest, defeating Vietnam convincingly with set scores of 25-20, 25-10, and 25-15. The team clinched their third consecutive victory without losing a set, securing the C.V. Cup 2026, Stage 2 championship.
Looking ahead, Thailand's women's volleyball team will compete in the 2026 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship in Tianjin, China, from August 21-30, 2026. As defending champions, Thailand is placed in Group B alongside Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and Australia, with the championship winner earning automatic qualification for the Olympic Games.
