Thailand Waives Expressway Tolls for Mother's Day August 12
Thailand will waive tolls on three major expressway routes all day Wednesday, August 12, for Mother's Day and the Queen Mother's birthday, affecting 63 toll booths across Bangkok and central regions.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) under the Ministry of Transport has announced that tolls will be waived on three expressway routes on Wednesday, August 12, 2569 (Mother's Day and the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother) from 00:01 to 24:00. The affected routes are: Chalerm Mahanakhon Expressway (Din Daeng-Bang Na-Dao Khanong), 21 toll booths; Sri Rat Expressway (Chaeng Watthana-Bang Kho-Srinakarin), 32 toll booths; and Udon Ratthaya Expressway (Bang Pa-in-Pak Kret), 10 toll booths. This measure aligns with government policy and the amended concession agreement between EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), and Bangkok Northern Expressway Company Limited (NECL), aimed at facilitating public travel during the holiday, reducing transportation costs, and alleviating traffic congestion at toll plazas. The EXAT urges drivers to operate vehicles safely under the motto "Safe driving, no wrong-way entry, for safety."
