Thailand Waives Expressway Tolls at 8 Routes Through Sunday
Thailand waived tolls on all eight major expressway routes through Sunday to help drivers navigate severe flooding and heavy rain affecting the country.
At 12:30 p.m. on September 26, 2026, the Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) under the Ministry of Transport implemented an order from Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn to waive tolls on all eight expressway routes. The exemption runs from 1 p.m. on September 26 through midnight on Sunday, September 27, 2026, to provide relief and ease travel conditions during severe flooding and heavy rain affecting numerous areas.
The toll-free routes include: Chalong Mahanakhon Expressway, Srirat Expressway, Chalongrat Expressway (Rama Intra–Atchanuranon and Outer Ring Road), Burapa Route (Bangkok–Chon Buri), Udon Ratthaya (Bang Pa-in–Pak Kret), Bangkok–Atchanuranon Expressway (S1), Kanchanaphisek Expressway (Bang Plee–Suk Sawat), and Prachuab Ratthaya (Srirat–Outer Ring Road of Bangkok).
The EXAT and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) are deploying traffic management personnel to monitor conditions closely and provide real-time updates on affected on and off ramps to help the public plan their routes. The authority urges all motorists to exercise caution, follow official guidance, and stay informed through EXAT communication channels for current traffic and route availability.
