Rayong Governor Deploys Full Forces to Combat Severe Flooding
Rayong province deployed 150 personnel and extensive equipment to manage severe flooding that hit multiple districts September 26, affecting about 20 households while water levels gradually receded.
On September 26, Tripath Vongtrirat, Governor of Rayong Province and director of the provincial disaster prevention and mitigation command, reported that flooding has affected several areas across the province. In Pluak Daeng District, flooding persists along Suphon Lane in Pluak Daeng Subdistrict, while Ban Wang Sai in Kraseab On Subdistrict has impacted approximately 20 households with 30 residents. Ban Na Subdistrict near Nong Crok Khae is under damage assessment, and Thung Kwai Kin Subdistrict near the Prasae intersection continues to experience high water levels; small vehicles should avoid the area.
In Mueang Rayong District, conditions in Ka-Cherd Subdistrict have stabilized. Rainfall has ceased and water levels in the Tabbuma basin have dropped from 2.14 meters at 7 a.m. to 2.12 meters at 8 a.m., down from the critical level of 2.50 meters. Cell broadcast alerts were issued to Kaeng District residents.
Relief operations involve 10 inspection vehicles, 4 flood warning signs, 2 emergency transport vehicles, 2 boats, two 14-inch water pumps, and 150 personnel from various agencies including the Chachoengsao Region 17 Disaster Prevention Center, local administrative organizations, rescue foundations, and Buddhist welfare associations. A temporary shelter accommodating approximately 200 people has been established at Pluak Daeng District Hall. Damage assessments are underway, and no casualties or injuries have been reported. Ongoing measures include traffic facilitation and continued assistance through coordinated local government organizations and community associations.
