Flooding Blocks Small Vehicles on Two Bangkok Expressways
Flooding at two Bangkok expressway ramps—Burapha Road's Bang Bo and Udon Ratthaya's Muang Thong—blocked small vehicles on September 28, while most major expressways maintained normal traffic flow.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand under the Ministry of Transport provided an update on flooding conditions at expressway entry and exit ramps on September 28. Most major expressways including Chaloem Mahanakhon, Si Rat, Chaloem Rat, Kanchanaphisek, and Prachim Ratchaya remained clear with normal traffic flow. However, the Burapha Road expressway at the Bang Bo entry and exit ramps experienced flooding that prevented small vehicles from passing through, as did the Udon Ratthaya expressway at the Muang Thong entry ramp. The Expressway Authority established a 24-hour War Room to closely monitor traffic conditions and incident situations using CCTV cameras from the Expressway Traffic Management Center, with staff deployed to assist and facilitate traffic flow. The authority urged motorists to plan their routes and check road conditions before traveling to ensure safe and convenient expressway use.
