On the morning of September 28, Prime Minister Anusorn Chaiyon and the Interior Minister convened senior officials at Government House to accelerate efforts to resolve Bangkok's flooding crisis. All agencies were instructed to fully integrate resources and personnel to drain water quickly and ease public suffering, with Bangkok's governor designated as the incident commander to ensure unified coordination.
The government spokesman revealed that the Prime Minister ordered all units to prioritize assistance in densely populated areas hardest hit by the disaster. He emphasized that this flooding involves exceptional water volumes at severe levels, requiring full deployment of equipment including water pumps, drainage machinery, and essential gear to boost efficiency. He also directed Bangkok authorities, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, and all relevant agencies to urgently reach affected communities, especially those lacking food, drinking water, and essentials, including vulnerable groups in areas still unreached by aid.
After visiting affected areas personally, the Prime Minister stressed that officials must work at maximum capacity to ensure no community or resident group is overlooked. Alongside emergency water drainage, caring for public welfare during the ongoing crisis must proceed in parallel.
