Thailand Warns of Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Nationwide
The Thai Meteorological Department issued Warning No. 9 forecasting heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and possible hail across northern, central, eastern and upper southern Thailand from October 5 to 7, with risks of flash floods and overflow. Specific provinces facing very heavy rain on October 5 include Kamphaeng Phet and Sukhothai, while many others expect heavy rain. Mariners are advised to expect waves over two meters in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand and to avoid sailing in stormy areas.
On October 5, very heavy rain is expected in Kamphaeng Phet and Sukhothai, while heavy rain is forecast for Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Uttaradit, Tak, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun in the North; Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin in the Northeast; Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram, plus Bangkok and vicinity in the Central region; Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi and Rayong in the East; and Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun in the South. On October 6, heavy rain is expected in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok and Phichit in the North; and Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat and Kanchanaburi in the Central region.
