Three armed men stormed a luxury home in Bang Lamung, Chonburi, stealing cash, Rolex watches and forcing the victim to transfer cryptocurrency worth nearly 30 million baht. The victim escaped and reported the crime; police have identified three suspects, possibly Chinese nationals, and are coordinating with immigration and forensic units to trace the stolen assets.
Three armed men broke into a luxury villa in the Nong Prue subdistrict of Bang Lamung, Chonburi, at around 3:30 am. Using a ladder, they climbed in, kicked open the bedroom door and threatened the foreign victim with firearms, demanding cash, valuables and access to a safe. They stole approximately 150,000 baht in cash and three Rolex watches, then forced the victim to transfer cryptocurrency from his digital wallet to an address they controlled, netting about $820,000 (roughly 27 million baht). Total losses are estimated at nearly 30 million baht.
After the robbery, the victim escaped and reported the crime to Nong Prue police station. Investigators have identified three suspects, believed possibly to be Chinese nationals, pending verification. Police have coordinated with immigration authorities and the forensic science division to gather evidence, including travel records and forensic material from the scene.
Provincial Police Region 2 Commissioner Wasan Tachakrakasem said that despite the short time elapsed, the investigation has progressed significantly with assistance from immigration officials and forensic teams who have already collected evidence at the house. Police are continuing to gather evidence to arrest the three perpetrators, trace the flow of stolen money and digital assets, and recover the victim’s losses.
