Three Victims From School Shooting Laid to Rest in Nonthaburi
Three family members killed in a school shooting were laid to rest at a Nonthaburi temple on August 8, with Buddhist ceremonies held before their Tuesday cremation.
On August 8, 2025, at Wat Tem Ruk Samakkhi temple in Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi, the family prepared the grounds for a merit-making ceremony honoring three victims—a grandfather, grandmother, and grandson—from a tragic school shooting. The ceremony was held amid an atmosphere of profound grief, with about 15 family members and relatives helping to arrange the venue and prepare meals for evening guests. The family organized three consecutive nights of Buddhist chanting before scheduling the cremation for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The mood throughout the ceremony was deeply sorrowful, particularly for the family of the deceased who lost three beloved relatives in a single tragic event. Around 1:30 p.m., staff from the Por Tek Tung Foundation transported all three bodies from Police Hospital to the temple for the religious rites, with family and relatives present to receive them. Upon arrival at the temple, the atmosphere was one of deep sorrow, with family members grieving the tragedy before the bodies were brought into the assembly hall for the merit-making ceremony according to Buddhist tradition.
