On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the Supreme Patriarch delegated a senior monk to preside over a ceremony honoring monastic schools excelling in Dhamma Studies for the 2568 academic year at Wat Phra Si Mahathat in Bangkok's Bang Khen district. Senior sangha officials attended as witnesses to the event.
The Supreme Patriarch offered remarks commending the winning schools and their staff, noting that Buddhist education serves both the sangha and lay people and fulfills the royal vision of developing citizens with moral character and virtue. He emphasized that educators—whether senior monks, ordained clergy, or school administrators—carry direct responsibility for managing, overseeing, and supporting Dhamma education, and that this is no trivial matter.
Referencing a royal directive from an earlier reign stressing that education must combine knowledge with morality to prevent citizens from turning to dishonesty, the Supreme Patriarch encouraged all school leaders to maintain high standards in teaching Dhamma Studies using established curricula. He expressed appreciation for those working to fulfill this royal aspiration and blessed all educators with wisdom and prosperity in both worldly and spiritual realms.
