On August 10, 2025, a banana plant at house number 211 in Nang Rong district, Buriram, produced an unusually shaped shoot that resembles lotus petals, drawing crowds of curious neighbors to view it. Some visitors have brought incense and candles to ask for blessings and good fortune, searching for lucky numbers including the house number 211 and numerals derived from the incense sticks to play in the lottery.
Nang Swat, 72, the homeowner, explained that although she has grown several banana plants over the years, she has never seen one with such an unusual appearance. She discovered the oddly shaped shoot on a recent Buddhist holy day and was so surprised by its lotus-like form that she shared the discovery with neighbors, which prompted many people to visit.
Swat noted that she has frequently experienced good fortune in the past, and recently had a dream in which someone told her to buy pork. She interpreted this dream as a positive sign and good omen, taking it as a message that luck may be coming her way. She has asked for blessings for good health and fortune during this period.
The article notes that these interpretations and beliefs are personal and reflect local folk traditions in the area. It advises that using numbers from such occurrences for lottery play should be done with careful judgment.
