Vietnam Women's Volleyball Coach Withdraws From Thailand Tournament
Vietnam's women's volleyball head coach withdrew from the SEA V CUP 2026 second leg in Chiang Mai after his team's 0-3 loss to Thailand in the first leg, replaced by an under-18 coach.
Major Vietnamese media outlets report that Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt, head coach of Vietnam's women's volleyball team, has withdrawn from assisting the team at the SEA V CUP 2026 second leg being held in Thailand. The women's volleyball SEA V CUP 2026 second stage will take place from August 7–9, 2026, at the Chiang Mai 700 Years Sports Stadium in Chiang Mai Province. According to Vietnamnet, an online news website and digital newspaper from Vietnam, Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt will not travel to Thailand for the second leg competition. Nguyễn Thị Ngọc Hoa, a coach for the under-18 age group, has been appointed as interim head coach in his place. The withdrawal is believed to stem from Coach Nguyễn's team losing to Thailand 0–3 in sets during the first leg, missing out on the championship in front of Vietnamese volleyball fans.
